We embarked on a comprehensive project to breathe new life into a historic, time-worn farmhouse. The scope of our work encompassed a wide range of tasks, each aimed at restoring and rejuvenating this traditional gem.
The project kicked off with extensive roof repairs and meticulous repointing of the chimneys and external brickwork. Structural integrity was a top priority, and we collaborated closely with our skilled structural engineer to carry out essential cellar repairs.
In the pursuit of modern comfort and functionality, we introduced several key elements. The installation of a new septic tank, along with an external boiler and oil tank, ensured efficient utility management. Inside, a complete rewiring of the entire property was executed, accompanied by the installation of new bathrooms and a contemporary kitchen.
One of the standout transformations was the conversion of an old storeroom into a cosy lounge area. This involved the installation of insulated plasterboard, precise plastering, and the addition of a well-insulated concrete floor, complete with external damp proofing.
To enhance the farmhouse’s aesthetic and comfort, new flooring was laid throughout the entire property. Select windows were replaced, offering improved functionality and aesthetics. A final touch of finesse was applied with a complete decoration overhaul.
Outside, we extended our efforts to the surrounding landscape. We installed new fencing to provide privacy and security while also giving the property a fresh look. The driveway received a facelift with meticulous reshingling, creating a welcoming entrance to the revitalised farmhouse.
