Planning and Tender:
Matt and Stephen took the time to truly understand what we wanted, visiting the house a few times with some of their sub-contractors to ensure the full extent of the work and potential issues were known. Everyone we met was professional and friendly. Their quote was highly detailed with very few provisional costs, which gave us confidence in our overall budget.
Build:
The team turned up on time every single day and got cracking straight away; the old conservatory was dismantled and cleared within hours. Work progressed largely to plan and budget, with Matt maintaining excellent site supervision. Disruption to our access, power, and water was kept to an absolute minimum, meaning we were able to comfortably stay in the house through the entire three months.
Ingenuity & Problem Solving:
No major build goes completely without a hitch, and we had a few minor hiccups along the way—specifically around the height of the structural beam, fitting the oven tower in, and dealing with an exposed extractor fan pipe. What impressed us most was how the team handled these challenges. They resolved every issue with real ingenuity, practical cleverness, and great communication, ensuring we always felt involved and reassured.
Finish:
The plastering, kitchen fitting, and decorating went incredibly smoothly, and the final finish is fantastic. The few minor snagging items we noted at the end were fixed straight away without any fuss.
The aftercare was also very good, fixing a mark on a cabinet, changing some handles and adjusting a window. All done with professionalism and goodwill.
The Team:
We especially want to thank Craig who built our walls and Chris who worked like a trooper in 30+degree heat outside. Joe plastered our walls and was an all-round great guy and Tom, the carpenter who put our kitchen together, took the time to get everything exactly right and clearly takes immense pride in his work. Beyond being expert at their jobs, they always took the time to explain what they were doing, giving us total peace of mind as the work progressed. Behind the scenes, Matt and Stephen maintained great oversight of the entire project, and Angie was wonderfully friendly and helpful with the invoices and managing communications with the architect regarding permissions and approvals. We truly appreciated everyone’s flexibility, responsiveness, and hard work.
